12 Questions to ask upon experiencing a buttercup.

• Who is now seeing the form and the yellow and smelling the fragrance?

• What IS yellow, and how does the experience of it arise?

• If the buttercup blooms and no one sees it, is the yellow still there?

• How is it that carbon, hydrogen, oxygen and nitrogen, etc. assume the form of a buttercup here and a daisy over there?

• Is the buttercup perceived with the eyes, nose and fingers the whole buttercup?

• Where is the buttercup in the winter?

• What IS this experience of "beauty"?

• Does it matter that I have experienced this particular buttercup?

• And how about it if I cut it and place it in a vase?

• Would it make someone happy if I did that and gave it to them?

• When I talk to the buttercup does it understand me?

• Would it really matter if this buttercup species went extinct?
