Religious Life in the Home
Whether you live near a congregation of the Christian Community or not, there are things that can be done in the home that will support your child’s religious life in an age appropriate way. Blessing meals before eating, for example, can cultivate a mood of gratitude. Lighting a candle at night together and saying a simple prayer brings a gentle reminder of the goodness that envelops the child as well as the whole family.
Taking time to celebrate the festivals together through crafts, song and time out in nature brings to children a healthy sense of the rhythm of the year. Visit our Christian Festivals page regularly to find new ways to think about the Festivals as well as practical suggestions for bringing them to life in a meaningful way in the home.
