The second of a two-part series. Dying is the one thing we can count on happening. It takes courage to face the ending of one’s earthly life. Befriending death means that there are many things that can be done well ahead, in order to make the inevitable an easier transition for oneself and one’s nearest and dearest.
In this second part we will meet with Olivia Bareham, of Sacred Crossings. Olivia is a “death midwife” who specializes in helping families to care for their loved ones who wish to die naturally at home, and to care for them after death. She will show short films and we will discuss how her services can dovetail with The Christian Community’s recommendation of a three day vigil and funeral, either at the home or in the chapel.
