About the Talk:
This lecture will summarize the approach to higher, or deeper, knowledge according to Rudolf Steiner and CG Jung. It will offer a description of higher beings such as Krishna, Buddha, Christ and Sophia according to Steiner and Jung’s description of psyche, myth, synchronicity and archetypes, particularly the archetype of the Self, or Christ.
About the Speaker:
Dr. Robert McDermott is president emeritus and professor at the California Institute of Integral Studies. He served as the president of the New York Center for Anthroposophy, a member of the council of the Anthroposophical Society in America, president of the Rudolf Steiner Institute, and chair of the boards of Rudolf Steiner College, Sunbridge College and Sophia Project. His recent publications include The Bhagavad Gita and the West, The New Essential Steiner, and American Philosophy and Rudolf Steiner. He is currently writing Unique Not Alone: Steiner and Others.
