Presentation with slides by Jeff Feldman.
The current pope has inspired renewed interest in the life of Francis of Assisi (c. 1182-1226). Francis has been called, “the most original genius of the 13th Century”, by Roman Catholic theologian G.K. Chesterton, and he continues to be one of the most loved and revered people in the history of humanity. He was held in high esteem by Rudolf Steiner who lectured extensively about his important task and mission and spoke of the moral impulses and forces that flowed through Francis, literally healing and transforming others.
Jeff Feldman, the Fourth Grade teacher at the Westside Waldorf School and a new member of The Christian Community in Los Angeles, has been fascinated by the life of St. Francis for more than 30 years and has spent time during the past three summers, in Assisi, Italy, visiting various sites associated with his life. On the day before Martin Luther King Day, Jeff will share photos of his trips, a biographical sketch of Francis and some of his reflections.
