The days will include the Act of Consecration of Man and Close of Day services, Eurythmy, the Icon Writing sessions and shared meals; in the evening the role of Mary-Sophia in the Eastern church and in our time will be looked at. No previous experience necessary; you do not need to be an artist to write icons. You will be guided through the many different steps, using the Byzantine method of egg tempera with gold leaf gilding.

Accommodations: You may bring a tent and camp; a few rooms are available for a small fee. A list will be posted online.
Cost:  $700 for the whole conference including food. Icon writing sessions only, $350 plus materials.
Presenters:
Christine Simoneau Hales holds a BFA in painting and art education from Massachusetts College of Art, Boston, and an MS in Art Therapy from the College of New Rochelle. She has studied Iconography with 3 Master Iconographers  and taught iconography for over 8 years. Her icons are in several churches and private collections. She is a member of British Association of Iconographers and lives and works  in the Hudson Valley,  New York. www.newchristianicons.com

Jeanne Simon-MacDonald  is a free-lance eurythmist, therapist and teacher. She performed with Eurythmy Spring Valley, before co-founding Grasshopper Productions in 1999. She is also a Lic. Practical Nurse. She works as Therapeutic Eurythmist at Camphill Village, Copake, NY.
