Malala Yousafzai, Nelson Mandela, Aung San Sui Kyi…something is stirring, disturbing, moving, beginning to pulse through humankind. What is this? If we call if “freedom” do we know what that means? What is calling? What is being asked of us? What is being offered? Whitman wrote in Democratic Vistas, “The history of ‘democracy’ has yet to be written”. Are we starting to lern how to form our letters? How to read the times? These questions and more will be looked at in the talk.
